This is a flexible schedule course that meets asynchronously via the virtual classroom for six weeks. Assignments, along with an instructional video, will be posted every Sunday and due by the following Saturday. Students are expected to use the classroom in order to interact with each other and receive feedback from the instructor. The instructor will be checking in at least once/ day in order to encourage students and guide them through the writing process to a completed piece. After work...
Students will improve their understanding of the different modes of writing while using their favorite Riordan books as inspiration.
The instructor will provide all handouts required. The students should have some knowledge of the 5 novel series written by Rick Riordan. Ideally, they would have already read or listened to the books. If there is a series that the student does not like, they can choose to complete a different prompt for that week.
Students will be given video feedback and a completed teacher-made rubric for each piece submitted.
No live meetings, and an estimated 2 - 4 hours per week outside of class.
