This class is an ongoing club that can be taken during school breaks or just for fun.Class Experience
US Grade 4 - 7
Beginner - Advanced Level
In this weekly creative writing club, students will have the opportunity to create original stories , poetry and drama . Through support and individual feedback, the teacher will encourage students to use their imaginations to develop unique storylines, settings, conflicts and memorable characters . This club will help students ignite their imaginations, develop communication skills and build their confidence through writing. Students will be given the opportunity to interact and share their writing with their peers if they wish. Students can continue writing existing projects or they can write a brand new piece each week. At the beginning of each class, the teacher will deliver a mini-lesson on one of the following skills to support student learning and development: - Theme Development -Figurative Language - Character Types and Development - Types of Conflict - Plot Structure and Sequence - Poetic Devices and Structures *The class content will not build; students can join at any time.

Other Details
Parental Guidance
Students will use Google Docs to write their stories, poems and dramas. The private Google Doc will be given to students individually. This will allow the teacher to provide individual feedback and ensure that all student writing is age-level appropriate. Parents will have access to the Google Doc as well.

I have several degrees: a Bachelors degree in English and Journalism, an M.A.T. degree in Secondary English Education and a Specialist degree in Curriculum and Instruction. I also have an ESOL Endorsement. I have six years of experience teaching middle school ELA, three years of experience teaching high school Literature & Composition and ESOL. I am currently a certified public school teacher.
