Writing letters is so much fun! In this class, students will learn how to write a friendly letter. We will brainstorm ideas for writing and then students will spend time composing a letter. Students will learn how to write a friendly letter in the correct form and how to correctly address an envelope. Mrs. Borton will use google slides and discussion to lead the class. Mrs. Borton is a patient and encouraging teacher who will share her excitement for writing letters with her students! Students will have a lot of opportunities to interact with other students during our brainstorming. Students will also be able to volunteer to read parts of their letters with the class.
Learning Goals
Students will improve their writing skills by doing a fun and low-key letter.

Supply List
Students will need paper, a pen or pencil, an envelope and a postage stamp, and the address of someone to whom they want to write.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Teacher expertise and credentials
Mrs. Borton has been an avid letter-writer for her whole life, writing letters weekly to friends and family members. Mrs. Borton gets excited to get her mail and uses letters as one of many ways of keeping in touch with family and friends.
Mrs. Borton holds degrees in English and Spanish.
