Class Experience

Being YOU is beautiful. Here is another class offering in my hand-lettering and drawing series centering around inspirational and positive greetings and quotes. In this class, we will use various shapes and lines to create a rich and vibrant floral border that covers two sides of our image. We will learn and use modern faux calligraphy and hand-lettering techniques to draw, "Be-YOU-tiful" in the center of our piece. If time permits, we will shadow our letters with various colors, and add small embellishments to finish our composition. This is a great piece to encourage appreciating the uniqueness in us all, and how we are each beautifully designed. Hang it up for some daily encouragement, or give to a friend!

Students will be guided step-by-step and given creative liberty to change and adapt their compositions as we draw together.

Card stock is preferred (but not required) for this class as we’re aiming to create a sturdy wall-art piece. Students can also choose color options they prefer most.

***Please note, some students may not have time to finish coloring their art piece in class depending on their optimal drawing speed. I will work at a steady pace and frequently gage where students are at during the lesson. It is my goal to help them finish their drawing, but sometimes this doesn’t allow for coloring completion before class is over. Thank you for understanding.***

I am a former Art Teacher and had the privilege of teaching Art for 2 years to K-8th grade students using various mediums and forms. A lot of my class instruction was teaching the art of drawing. Weekly, we drew various compositions ranging from seasonal landscapes, wild animals, nature, and portraits. Students enjoyed learning skills to create realistic drawings while adding as much flare and creative variation as they liked. Watching students enjoy making art and grow in their own confidence was truly a priceless gift. In addition to teaching art, I am an artist and have an art studio in my home. I've used my love for hand-lettering and design to start a business in 2015 selling products with my work. It's been so fun!
