Students will continue to hone their skills in this knitting class, building on what they learned in "Knitting Class. Learn How to Knit, Purl, and More." It is recommended that students take the first class or have a good working knowledge of the following stitches: knit, purl, stockinette, ribbing, seed stitch, and double seed stitch. In this class, students will be learning more techniques in knitting, and we will discuss how to design simple flat items such as a blanket. Week 1 - Students will learn alternate ways to cast on stitches, review the knit and purl stitches, and learn how to do a simple color-changing pattern. Week 2 - Students will learn how to change colors in knitting, using two colors of yarn in the same row. Week 3 - Students will continue to practice two-color knitting, learning more techniques to make their knitting more complex. Week 4 - Students will learn to make a staghorn cable. Week 5 - Students will continue to work on the simple staghorn cable or work on a challenge staghorn cable pattern. Week 6 - Students will learn how to make a simple lace using a yarn over technique.
