Students will continue to hone their skills in this knitting class, building on what they learned in "Knitting Class. Learn How to Knit, Purl, and More." It is recommended that students take the first class or have a good working knowledge of the following stitches: knit, purl, stockinette, ribbing, seed stitch, and double seed stitch. Students will improve their skills in knitting, learning more advanced stitches and techniques.
Mrs. Borton is a life-long crafter and an enthusiastic and yarn-crazy knitter. She has taught hundreds of students to knit in a weekly knitting club and has taught knitting at a local craft store.
A hand-out of simple patterns will be provided. Students will need the following supplies: 1. Knitting needles. 10" straight needles in bamboo are recommended. 2. Two skeins of solid-colored yarn in a size 4. Acrylic, acrylic-wool blend, or wool will be the easiest to use. 3. A small pair of blunt scissors 4. An extra straight knitting needle, or a double-pointed needle, or a cable needle
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
