Class Experience

US Grade Pre-Kindergarten - 2
Beginner Level
Beginning with a song and dance, I will introduce the concept of the clock to the students. Terminology such as: face, hands, hour, half hour, minutes and seconds will all be discussed. The students will then create and label their own paper clocks (PDF printout provided before class). I will read "Bats Around the Clock," by Kathi Appelt, to the students while we will practice telling time to the hour. This is a great introduction into telling time, or a good review, for anyone who needs it .
Learning Goals
Students will learn about the clock face, numbers and hands, as well as, time to the hour.

Hello from Texas! Although I am currently residing in Texas, we move quite often and that has allowed me to have many different types of career experiences. I have tutored privately and through well-known organizations; taught in the public school classroom setting with a self-contained classroom (including 4th grade and Texas History); substituted and interned in private school classroom settings; instructed at the community college level (History); assisted with museum operations; and homeschooled my three munchkins. I have worked with early education all the way up to the community college level. My Bachelors is in childhood education with a Master's in American History.
