1 live meeting
30 mins in-class hours per weekHomework
1 hour per week. Write, write and write! While homework will not be officially assigned, I will be encouraging outside writing. Whether the student is writing for school, writing in a journal, or writing in a comic strip, the practice of writing is crucial. If we do not complete an assignment in class, it may be offered as homework. This will be up to the parent/student as to whether or not it is completed outside the class time. For returning students, I will grade papers re-submitted to me, if the parent/student so desires.Class Experience
I am a licensed elementary and HS history educator with multi-grade level experience in reading and language arts. I will hone in on the necessary skills for a complete understanding of language arts concepts. Writing is the crucial foundation necessary to build upon for future endeavors in education; and once that foundation is secure and stable, the stars are the limit. In this small group instruction class, the student will receive the instruction for the student's writing needs to succeed. We will begin with nouns, adjectives, verbs and adverbs; while also examining capitalization and punctuation rules. Then we will transition to sentence structures, conjunctions, and prepositions. Finally, we will examine various stages of writing with introductions, body, conclusions, sentence flow, voice and more. I will utilize paper materials (PDF will be delivered to you ahead of time), books (hard copy, E-reader, or other online source), music and songs, and YouTube video clips. I will quickly access prior knowledge and build from there. I would be happy to answer any of your questions and/or concerns; please feel free to message me. I look forward to helping you and your child succeed!

Hello from Texas! Although I am currently residing in Texas, we move quite often and that has allowed me to have many different types of career experiences. I have tutored privately and through well-known organizations; taught in the public school classroom setting with a self-contained classroom; substituted and interned in private school classroom settings; instructed at the community college level; assisted with museum operations; and homeschooled my three munchkins. I have worked with early education all the way up to the community college level. I have a bachelor's of education and a master's of American History with a concentration in Native American studies
