In this 30-minute course, learners will discover the exciting world of fossils, our record of life in the past. We will discuss what fossils are and what qualifies as a fossil, the different types of fossils, how fossils form, and what fossils can tell us about the past. During this course I will encourage questions and discussion between the learners to foster interest and creativity. This course is open to all learners, no prior knowledge or experience is required for this course. If your learner has a fossil that they would like to share, feel free to bring it to class.
Learning Goals
By the end of this course, students will be able to differentiate between what is and is not a fossil, know how fossils are formed and why they are important.
