US Grade Kindergarten - 2
In this 30 minute, one-time class students will learn the ins and outs of volcanoes. We will discuss the different kinds of volcanoes, from the calmer ones found on Hawaii and Iceland, to the explosive volcanoes on the west coast of North America. We will discuss how and where they form, as well as famous eruptions in history. Additionally, students will learn about Lava and how different types of lava create different kinds of eruptions and volcanoes. This class will involve questions from myself and between learners throughout the class, and discussion about class material. No prior knowledge or experience is required, but an interest in volcanoes and geology is encouraged. This class will feature very similar information to the All About Volcanoes (Ages 8-12) course, but will be more geared toward the younger learners.
Learning Goals
Students will learn about the types of volcanoes, how, why, and where they form, as well as what kinds of lava creates which type of volcano.
