Description

Class Experience

In this one time class we will be delving into the world of geology. Exploring the foundations of geology: Rocks, Minerals, Fossils, and more. We will be covering the different types of rocks (Igneous, Sedimentary, and Metamorphic), how they formed, the rock cycle, and how to identify rocks. We will learn about gemstones and minerals, discuss the different kinds of gemstones, their matching minerals, how to identify those minerals, how minerals and gems are formed, and where they are found....

Students will learn about the foundations of Geology: the types of rocks and minerals and how they form.

I have both an Bachelors of Science and Masters of Science in Earth Science, with a focus on paleontology, and have worked as both a tour guide and researcher for a UNESCO world heritage site.

55 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
