Class Experience

Singers will perform one or two songs (depending on class enrollment and song length) in class and serve as audience members for the others in class. Singers will showcase what they have learned using pre-recorded accompaniments or will self-accompany. Only the teacher will comment and give feedback to the learners. A performance program will be created for students as a keepsake of their performance.

I strive to teach my students to sing healthfully with their best voice while maintaining a respect for accomplished singers, both past and present. The teaching of singing involves a holistic approach in terms of voice, mind, body, intellect, interests, and goals. I strive to foster confidence, creativity, and self-expression in my students. All instruction adheres to the Code of Ethics set forth by the National Association of Teachers of Singing (of which I am a member), and am committed to providing the best in vocal music education to my students. Performance in front of an audience fosters these goals.
