Beginner Level
What will be taught? Students will learn about the technological innovations of ancient civilizations, such as irrigation systems, road construction, and the development of writing. What topics will you cover? The class will cover key ancient technologies, including irrigation in Mesopotamia, road systems in China, and writing in Egypt and Mesopotamia. How is your class structured? The class is structured as a 45-minute session, with a blend of lecture, visual slides, interactive discussions, and engaging activities. How will you teach? I use a mix of storytelling, humor, and visuals to make ancient history exciting. The class is designed to be both informative and entertaining, keeping students engaged throughout. What's your teaching style? My teaching style is dynamic and interactive, using humor and relatable examples to connect with students. I aim to make learning fun while ensuring key concepts are clearly understood. How much will learners get to interact with you? Learners will interact with me throughout the class via discussions, games, and quizzes. They'll have opportunities to ask questions, participate in activities, and engage with the material in a hands-on way.
Learning Goals
Compare and contrast ancient technological advances and origins of early civilizations, (Egypt, China, India, Mesopotamia).
Discuss how ancient technology has inspired future technology, even today.
