Students will build upon their reading skills and build confidence in their reading ability. Students will improve their overall understanding of the writing process, grammar, and letter formation. They will learn and practice how to transfer their ideas into written format. Students will become comfortable with manipulating numbers in order to add and subtract. They will develop skills to demonstrate their understanding and ability to discuss and share multiple strategies when solving number story problems. They will understand how to tell time to the hour and half hour using a digital and analog clock. They will be able to identify coins, their values, and use them to solve problems. They will be able to identify 2D and 3D shapes and their attributes. They will be able to gather information and create a graph and then discuss their findings.
Students need paper, pencil, coloring materials, white board and dry erase markers (if possible) for each class. There may be other various materials needed for classes that will be posted to the classroom page prior to class.
