Tools for Thriving is a personalized 4-week course designed to equip learners with skills to manage emotions, develop positive thinking patterns, and make good choices. This course emphasizes building confidence that empowers learners to approach challenges with a positive and can-do attitude. Positive thoughts and emotions not only feel better to experience, but they help us adapt and solve problems with creativity and determination. Social skill building helps learners form and maintain positive relationships, communicate effectively, and navigate social interactions with confidence and empathy. Healthy cognitive and social skills contribute positively to academic performance, emotional well-being, and future success in various personal and professional contexts. This fun and interactive course helps learners discover the ability to train their brains and grow through everyday challenges by providing the tools needed to thrive. This private course is tailored to the learner's developmental level, needs, and learning style. Depending on the age of the learner puppets, games, slides, and discussion may be used to teach the material. Contact me for other scheduled times or to explore other social-emotional topics." Week 1: Positive Thoughts and Emotions Learn to recognize helpful and unhelpful thoughts and their influence on emotions and behaviors. Also, learn ways to remember and increase positive thoughts and emotions through the power of self-talk and gratitude. Week 2: Embracing a Growth Mindset Learn to embrace challenges, view mistakes as opportunities for learning, and develop a belief in your ability to improve through effort and perseverance. Embrace self-compassion and learn that you can grow and change your brain. Week 3: Building Social Skills Learn and strengthen valuable social skills for successful interactions and positive relationships, such as assertiveness, empathy, perspective-taking, and simple problem-solving. Learners will gain confidence in connecting meaningfully with others, handling disagreements, and being good friends. Week 4: Applying Skills & Making Good Choices Review the skills learned in previous weeks and practice using them in everyday situations. Each situation will be an age-appropriate experience that will help learners develop the confidence to make positive choices.
