In this 3-week course, students will develop their emotional intelligence skills by reading and exploring a graphic novel together.

Class Experience

  • Students will use the lessons from the story to increase the social-emotional competencies of social awareness, self-awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making.
Welcome! I am Dr. Syreeta. I love helping learners develop the emotional skills and confidence they need to thrive socially and academically. My training is in clinical psychology with a focus on parent-child attachment and family therapy. My Outschool classes are not therapy or a medical service.

Details: Students will read the assigned chapters before class. The length of pages varies, but generally, the chapters are short and easy to read in graphic novels.
It would be helpful to have the book available during the class. 
Parent guidance is not required in this course. Learners will gain social and emotional skills in this class. This skills-based class is not a therapeutic or medical service. It does not replace mental health providers or therapeutic services.
