Class Experience

US Grade 9 - 12
As kids get older they have more constraints on their time and seemingly even more distractions. It becomes easy to give up on accomplishing what is important. I use research based data to deliver tried and true methods so that the student will learn skills now that will serve them well into adulthood.

In this course, students will learn how to keep track of their time so that they may better manage it.
They will be taught how to track their time, identify their priorities, create a useful "to-do" list, identify time wasters and more! They will also be taught through stories and examples the "why behind the what", meaning, for example, why they should track their time or why they should not be on their cellphones in the hour before bedtime.
The course will be a mix of presenting information, discussion and interaction, and opportunity to apply what has been learned.

This class varies from the single meeting class, as it holds learners accountable for following through on the steps necessary for effectively managing their time. Each week will consist of:

Week one: Introduction to Time Management and how to track your time.
Week two: Analyzing the time trackers and setting priorities
Week three: Turning priorities into "to-do's"
Week four: Follow up and analysis after a week of implementation and how to keep it up.

Resources will be provided (hand-outs) but students can transfer onto their own papers.
Learning Goals
Students will learn the steps necessary to track their time so they can prioritize tasks, identify goals, create weekly to-do lists and take control of their waking hours.
