The transition from middle school to high school can be daunting for many students. This four-session course aims to equip incoming high school students with essential study skills and strategies to thrive academically. Through interactive activities, discussions, and practical exercises, students will develop effective study habits, time management skills, note-taking techniques, and critical thinking abilities. By the end of the course, students will feel confident and prepared to navigate the challenges of high school academics successfully.

Responses to student questions will, in most cases be within 24 hours, and never more than 48. 
Student work and reflection is given feedback for the week on Sundays.

It is estimated that the entire course will take four one-hour-long sessions, paced at one per week.

Session 1: Introduction to High School Study Skills
 •	Understanding the differences between middle school and high school academics
•	Setting academic goals for high school success
•	Introduction to effective study habits and strategies
•	Time management techniques for balancing academics and extracurricular activities

Lesson 2:
Session 2: Note-Taking and Organization
 •	Importance of good note-taking skills
•	Different note-taking methods (e.g., Cornell method, outlining)
•	Organizing notes for easy retrieval and study
•	Using technology for note-taking and organization (e.g., digital note-taking apps, calendars)

Lesson 3:
Session 3: Critical Thinking and Problem-Solving
 •	Developing critical thinking skills for analyzing information
•	Strategies for problem-solving in various subjects
•	Practicing critical thinking through real-life scenarios and case studies
•	Understanding the importance of asking questions and seeking clarification

Lesson 4:
Session 4: Exam Preparation and Test-Taking Strategies
 •	Effective exam preparation techniques (e.g., creating study schedules, using study aids)
•	Test-taking strategies for different types of exams (e.g., multiple choice, essay)
