Hello and welcome to third grade! There's still so much to learn, discover and explore and this class is full of opportunities to do just that! As a former classroom teacher and full time homeschool mom, I'm excited to offer this class that will have your student feeling happy, excited and confident as they review & learn content and curriculum to make them a total rockstar in third grade! Each week we will meet 4 times to cover 4 different subject areas that are crucial to the success of every third grader. Through active engagement, exciting instruction and hands on activities, students will gain the knowledge they need (whether it be new or an opportunity for review) to achieve the tools needed to prepare them for a successful school year. Each week is based on a theme and all of the lessons will relate to the theme. Making connections in various subject areas helps students to understand and relate to the content that is being taught. In addition, students at this level will have various at home projects and activities to work on throughout the year. Instructions and materials needed will always be given. Below you will find an outline of class content as well as specific areas of study for the initial 9 weeks of the school year. Additional outlines and information will be updated weekly and will contain the entire school year. Classes listed are in the Central Time Zone. Please note: This year-long class will begin the week after Labor Day 2022 and continue through the school year. Please feel free to email with any questions! Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello & welcome to Outschool! My name is Suzi and I'm excited to share a bit about myself.
I am a former elementary school teacher turned homeschooling mom. I have a background in Literacy education and find joy in teaching new things and helping students discover their interests through content and instruction. I think it's important to engage students through storytelling, example and hands on experiences.
As a teacher, I've taught everything from pre-school through high school grades and across all content areas. My favorite subjects to teach are history and math and I have a serious love of language and how to use it, whether it be through writing, speaking or problem solving.
My family and I live in Wisconsin. We have 3 children and 3 dogs (2 guinea pigs and a rabbit) and are originally from the East Coast...but are starting to realize we're destined to be midwesterners! I hope to see you in class soon!
Please feel free to reach out with any questions or suggestions you might have for classes. I love teaching with Outschool and can't wait to meet your student.
Thank you,
Miss Suzi
