Students will learn all about the different species of the praying mantis, their habits, where they live, how they are useful, and some other interesting facts about them. Students will also learn that the praying mantis is a master predator and how the praying mantis hunts. Students will view a slideshow and watch a short video with more helpful information about the praying mantis. Toward the end of the lesson, students will learn how to draw the praying mantis. Students will learn some of the different species of the praying mantis. Students will learn how the praying mantis hunts. Students will learn where the praying mantis lives. Students will learn habits of the praying mantis and how they are useful creatures.
I have taught about the praying mantis numerous times in my elementary education classroom. I am very knowledgeable on the subject of the praying mantis and have done extensive research.

For drawing the praying mantis: Students will only need a pencil, white construction paper, and a green crayon or marker.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

There will be pictures and videos of the praying mantis and their habits in the wild. They may be shown eating or capturing their prey. They may also be shown fighting with or killing other animals.
