Class Experience
Students will learn all about different types of bats, their habits, common myths about bats, how they are useful, and why humans should learn to appreciate them. Students will view a slideshow identifying many types of bats and interesting facts about them. They will also watch a short video with more helpful information about bats. Toward the end of the lesson, students will learn how to draw a bat. There will be ample discussion time on student opinions and common misconceptions of bats....
Students will learn about bats, how they can be helpful in the environment, and how we shouldn't be afraid of them. Students will be able to identify and explain several facts about bats. Students will learn about different kinds of bats and their body parts. Students will be able to identify and explain misconceptions or myths about bats. Students will be able to have a meaningful discussion with their peers.
I have taught about bats numerous times in my elementary education classroom. I am very knowledgeable on the subject of bats and have done extensive research. I am a nature and animal lover.
50 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
There will be pictures and videos of lots of different bats and their habits in the wild. They may be shown eating or capturing their prey. They may also be shown fighting with or killing other animals.
