US Grade 2 - 5
Students will learn all about different types of bats, their habits, common myths about bats, how they are useful, and why humans should learn to appreciate them. Students will view a slideshow identifying many types of bats and interesting facts about them. They will also watch a short video with more helpful information about bats. Toward the end of the lesson, students will learn how to draw a bat. There will be ample discussion time on student opinions and common misconceptions of bats. The main goal of this lesson is to teach students not to be afraid of these amazing creatures and to learn how bats help our environment.

Students will be able to identify and explain several facts about bats.
Students will learn about different kinds of bats and their body parts.
Students will be able to identify and explain misconceptions or myths about bats.

Parental Guidance
There will be pictures and videos of lots of different bats and their habits in the wild. They may be shown eating or capturing their prey. They may also be shown fighting with or killing other animals.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
