Lesson 1:

Learn to Write a Haiku!

 Students will learn what a haiku poem is, including where it originates from and the structure of a haiku.

Students will be provided with several examples of haikus.

Then, Miss Katie will model how to brainstorm & write a haiku.
Students will be encouraged to write their very own haiku.

Students may post their finished haiku writing on the classroom page to share with Miss Katie!

Supply List

Handouts will be provided. 
It would be helpful to print them before the class, to utilize during class, however paper and pencil is fine just as well.

External Resources

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
