In this one time class, students will search the haystacks to find the missing turkeys, then work together to solve 2nd and 3rd grade word problems to complete the riddle and gather them up for Farmer John.

This one time Thanksgiving themed class will challenge students to solve a variety of math problems, using an escape room format. Students will work together to find turkeys hidden in haystacks in order to find the math questions and solve the riddle. They must find all of the turkeys and solve the riddle in 30 minutes. Math problems are at second and third grade level and involve a variety of concepts, including addition, subtraction, simple multiplication, data, time, and money. Students will be encouraged to interact with peers to solve the problems; teacher will ask guiding questions and offer possible strategies if the group is stuck.
