In this one time class, students will search the village to find the leprechauns, then work together to solve 4th and 5th grade word problems to complete the riddle and get to the end of the rainbow before St. Patrick's Day.
Class experience
This one time March themed class will challenge students to solve a variety of math problems, using an escape room format. Students will work together to find the leprechauns and get to the end of the rainbow . They must find all of the leprechauns and decode the riddle in 30 minutes. Math problems are at fourth and fifth grade level and involve a variety of concepts, including all four math operations, data, time, area, perimeter, and fractions. I served as a public school educator for over 26 years. During that time, I specialized in science, math, and STEM engineering design, including coding and robotics through after school programs. After leaving the classroom, I was a science and math instructional coach in the largest school district in my state, working to help teachers improve academic achievement in science and math with their students.
