Telling Time Class With a Super Mario Theme - Ongoing

Welcome to my Super Mario themed time-telling class!  In this weekly class, learners will learn about and practice time telling to the minute using an analog clock.

I'm Mrs. Boham, a certified math teacher, with 11 years of experience teaching, 10 of which were as a certified classroom teacher specializing in Math.

I LOVE making learning fun, and I love to connect with my students and find things to make learning more fun for them.  This Super Mario time-telling class is sure to keep your child interested, and help them improve their math skills.

Class Outline:
• At the beginning of class we will start with greetings, review class expectations and do a math warm up. 
• Next, students will participate in a lesson focusing on strategies for telling time to the minute.
• As a class, students will practice the new strategies and modeling of the new strategies will be reinforced.
• At the end of class, students will play an interactive Super Mario themed game of Kahoot! practicing their new skills, and competing against their classmates in this fun math game.

**Previous knowledge: Some experience with time telling is great, but not required.  Learners should be able to skip count by 5's.

Generally this is a great class for 2nd, 3rd, 4th, or 5th grade learners although that is simply a general guideline. Please reach out and message me if you have questions about whether this class is right for your child.

Class Schedule:
Week 1/Week of 9/20: Time telling - hands of the clock and reading time in increments of 5 minutes - Part 1
Week 2/Week of  9/27: Time telling - hands of the clock and reading time in increments of 5 minutes - Part 2
No class 10/6 - Mrs. Boham is out of town
Week 3/Week of 10/11: Time telling - reading time to the minute - Part 1
Week 4/Week of 10/18: Time telling - reading time to the minute - Part 2
Week 5/Week of 10/25: Time telling  - review of weeks 1-4
Week 6/Week of 11/1: Time telling - phrases "quarter to ___", "half past ____" etc.


The above outline will repeat every 6 weeks.  Keep your learner enrolled as long as you like!
