Multiplication Facts with the Minions and Kahoot

Hi families!  Thank you so much for checking out this multiplication facts class!  

Does your child need to work on memorizing their multiplication facts with a certified teacher?  Then this fun, Minions themed multiplication facts class is just for them! 

👉This is an ongoing class that meets once per week. New students are encouraged to join this ongoing class at any time!  Material does not build from previous classes.

* Prior Knowledge Guideline: Students should be fluent in addition of single digit numbers as this is a foundational skill that multiplication relies on.

In this Minion themed multiplication facts class learners will be working toward mastery of their multiplication facts (0-12) with quick recall.  Each class we will be engaging with fun and interactive activities that will make memorizing multiplication facts fun!  

As a math teacher of 10 years, I can tell you honestly how valuable these skills are to your child's confidence.  Having this base knowledge sets your child up for success in the classroom because many complex math concepts rely on these foundational math facts.   

Class Outline:
• At the beginning of class we will start with greetings, review class expectations and do a math warm up. 
• Next, students will participate in a lesson focusing on strategies for remembering a set of multiplication facts (0-12 are covered)
• As a class, students will practice the new strategies and modeling of the new strategies will be reinforced.
• At the end of each day, students will play an interactive game of Kahoot! practicing their new skills, and competing against their classmates in this fun math game.

It is my goal to create a fun, interactive learning environment.  I believe that when we make math fun, we build a lifetime love for learning and students retain what they learn more effectively.
