Summer can be sew much fun: in this 4 day summer sewing camp, learners will be provided with an attachment featuring 2 patterns they can choose from. I will demonstrate how to cut the patterns from the attachment provided. Learners will then follow along with me as we lay out the fabric, pin the pattern to the fabric, cut out the fabric, and then hand sew the pattern to create their finished product. The patterns will be for a slouch bag or a boho knapsack. I will engage with the...
Learners will be able to pin, cut, and sew a project; from pattern cutting, pinning of fabric, cutting of fabric and sewing of project. They will learn to measure fabric, layout a pattern, thread a needle and hand sew a project.
I am an avid sewing enthusiast. I love sewing with my 10-and 12- year-old children. It is lots of fun, and very rewarding for them. They enjoy expressing their creativity and individuality when choosing fabrics, styles, and designs.
Prior to the start of camp, learners should have their pattern chosen, the fabric and thread, as well as the necessary supplies of a scissor, pins, needle and marking chalk.
I will provide learners with 2 patterns prior to class, and a list of the sewing supplies needed.
Learners will follow the daily progress and build upon the project by attending camp each day and completing that day's sewing step.
3 hours per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Parents please be advised; learners will be cutting, pinning, and sewing with needles, by hand. Parental supervision is not required, but it is suggested that either an adult be present, or the learner is capable of performing the needed activities on their own.
I will be providing the patterns for the camp via an attachment on my Outschool camp page.
