Are you considering college or other high school level classes in the near future? Lectures seem overwhelming? We learned in class 1 that when you prepare and think like a teacher, you almost don't have to study. I'd like to offer even more solutions for a relaxed and non-threatening way to prepare for classes. I have 2 sons who went from pure homeschooling to early college. I taught them how to listen and look for the right type of information in a lecture and in a college textbook. I have heard back from many of my past co-op students that they appreciated some of the basic skills we reviewed and clarified. We will take the mystery out of study skills by clarifying what is critical to notate and review. We will practice using sample lessons using tools everyone has. Over the last 30 years, I've taught many home schooled students from many backgrounds. Some used textbooks, others were in co-ops and some were unschoolers. The transition into high school, college, and the job market can be much less stressful if you know what to listen and look for in note-taking. Students will share ideas and modify weak notes to be more concise and effective. See you in the classroom!

Teacher expertise and credentials
I love teaching and I love learning. Online teaching is fairly new to me, so I'm excited to learn more about how to adjust my style to these class. For the last 24 years, I've taught in the special ed and resource classroom, home school co-ops, private and public tutoring, workshops and camps. I love working with all ages of students from little ones to college students. I especially love phonics, writing, handwriting, art history, literature and spelling. I have an Elementary Education degree from Baylor University, and a specialization in Special Education with a Reading endorsement. My own 4 kiddos have very diverse learning styles including dysgraphia, autism spectrum, twice exceptional and sensory issues. I LOVE helping reluctant learners find that they CAN!
