Spring Break: Pop-Up Ballet Class for Lower Elementary Students!

Welcome to ballet class! This class will give children an introduction to ballet positions, movements, and steps, but the tone will not be as serious or professional as that of a traditional ballet school. 

This class is great for children who:
-are interested in ballet, but you aren't sure if it will "stick"
-could use ballet as a foundation for stage performance or other dance
-need a boost of confidence!
-could use improvement in posture, core strength, and flexibility

Class will be open to all children: boys, girls, English language learners, and those with special needs. Please send me a message if your child requires any special accommodations. Students will be introduced to movements, steps, and combinations and will receive feedback/guidance for improvement. 

Class format:
-Community building activity ("question of the day" or short game)
-Basic stretches
-Center Work (plies, tondues, etc.)
-Game/Brain Break 
-Across the floor (leaps, turns, etc.)

Appropriate attire:
-Comfortable pants/t-shirt
-Leggings and a tank top
-Leotard and tights

Appropriate footwear:
-Ballet slippers
-Sneakers
-Socks (carpet only!)
-Bare feet (only as last resort!)

PS--age range is flexible--especially to accommodate siblings!
