Free First Class with Coupon Code: AYAEGOK2I510

This weekly Zumba class is inclusive of beginner and experienced dancers alike with options for modifications to simplify or advance each step. My previous classes have included trained dancers, students with Autism, students with ADHD, and everyone in-between. Classes will incorporate snip-its of education about different cultures, basic rhythm/musicality work, body awareness, health education, and silliness! This is a great class for students with extra energy before or after school, homeschool students who need a physical outlet or a Physical Education class, students working on their gross-motor skills, and students who love to dance and move!

Zumba Kids is a very different format from "adult" Zumba it involves more voice from the instructor, games each class, and discussion to make for a more interactive and age-appropriate experience.

Each 40 minute Zumba Kids class will include:
-A "question of the day" (A simple silly question that students will answer verbally at the start of class. Students who need are welcome to answer via typing in the chat, having an adult speak for them, or to simply wave hello)
-A warm-up dance
-A break-down and practice of 2 dances
-A game/activity (Freeze Dance or a Scavenger Hunt)
-Cool-down
-A "Closing Question": "What was your favorite part of today's Zumba class?"

*Note: There will be a short break (1-2 minutes) between each activity for water/discussion.

There will be time for student-teacher and student-student interaction, structured learning, and fun!

Classroom Page: I reccomend looking at the post on the classroom page 5-10 minutes before the start of class. I will post the "question of the day" before class and your child can prepare their answer before joining to relieve any anxiety. Always take a peek at the classroom page a few minutes after class, as well. I often post tips, videos, links to music used in class, or optional at-home extension ideas.

*For the best experience during Zumba class, be sure the student is on-camera from head-to-toes*

Learning Needs
I ama a Certified General and Special Education Teacher. This Zumba class is built for students who are neurotypical and neurodiverse. I incorporate both visual and verbal instructions with optional modifications.
Parental Guidance
This Zumba class will incorporate gross-motor movements such as jumping, kicking, and skipping. Students should have appropriate space, a water bottle, and well-fitting sneakers to promote safety and prevent injury. Parents may want to remain close by to encourage attention and help with any technology issues that might arise (especially during the first class). If any technological issues arise during class (ex: teacher is inaudible), parents can send me a message in the chat on Zoom and I will do my best to resolve the issue. Also, if your student is joining late--don't worry! It may take a moment to be let in (especially if we are in the middle of a dance), but I will admit you as soon as possible. If a family has any special needs, comments, or concerns before or after class they can feel free to send me a private message on Outschool and I will do my best to accommodate to your satisfaction within 48 hours. This Inclusive Zumba class is great for students who are neurotypical, neurodiverse, have Autism, ADHD, speech impairments, dyslexia, Down Syndrome, and many other disability classifications.
Pre-Requisites
For age 6, choose this Zumba class if they have moderate-strong gross-motor skills (able to march, skip, etc.) and experience with Zoom classes. If they are new to Zoom and need to work on those skills, choose "Zumba Kids Jr".
