Description

Class Experience

Students will:
-Learn and follow basic ballet stretches
-Learn and try a few simple ballet steps
-Become familiar with the story of The Nutcracker Ballet
-Follow and try ballet choreography from The Nutcracker Ballet
I am a NYS Certified Early Childhood and Special Education Teacher, Licensed Zumba Kids Teacher, and have studied and taught ballet for many years.
No homework will be assigned from our Nutcracker Ballet Class!
Appropriate attire: -Comfortable pants/t-shirt -Leggings and a tank top -Leotard and tights -Ballet skirts are welcome The most ideal attire for ballet class is a solid colored leotard and pink tights with no skirt. This helps me to assess and adjust students' posture, "lines", footwork, etc. Appropriate footwear: -Ballet slippers -Sneakers -Socks -Bare feet
There will be no formal assessment for our Nutcracker Ballet Class.
40 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Be sure that students are head-to-toes on camera when standing during ballet class. Students should have water, room to move, comfortable clothing, and appropriate footwear. Students can wear ballet slippers, sneakers, socks, or bare feet.

Parents may want to remain close by to encourage attention and help with any technology issues that might arise.

If any technological issues arise during ballet class (ex: teacher is inaudible), parents can send me a message in the chat on Zoom and I will do my best to resolve the issue.

If a family has any special needs, comments, or concerns before or after class they can feel free to send me a private message on Outschool and I will do my best to accommodate to your satisfaction within 48 hours.

This Nutcracker ballet class is great for students who are neurotypical, neurodiverse, have Autism, ADHD, speech impairments, dyslexia, Down Syndrome, and many other disability classifications.

This class will have Christmas/holiday themes, but it will be secular in nature. The Nutcracker Ballet references Christmas, but none of the religious aspects.
Our ballet music used in class will be directly from Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker.
