Class Experience

US Grade 3 - 5
There are NO live meetings for this class. Instead, the material will be posted weekly, and learners may participate at their convenience. Learners will solve one mystery per week; each mystery contains 5 mini-lessons.

Each week on a Sunday, an English Language Arts (ELA) mystery will be posted by video to the classroom page. Each mystery requires five clues to be solved, for which learners will need to 1) watch a pre-recorded mini-lesson on the topic, 2) practice new skills in a Kahoot! challenge and 3) complete a printable activity. Each clue will take around 45 minutes to complete. Learners are asked to share their findings with the class Teacher by message, either by typing or video. The teacher will provide feedback by video or message. A report will be available on learner progress upon request.
On Wednesdays, learners will be invited to share their theories with their classmates by responding to a post on the classroom page by typing or by video as they prefer. Learners may communicate their theories at any time, as their suspicions may change as the week goes on. Again, the teacher will provide encouragement and feedback.

On Saturday’s Teacher will open a discussion post to share learner findings, having solved all the clues and caught the culprit. Learners will compare these to their original suspicions, which will make for an exciting discussion.

**Please note the intensity of this class, 5x lessons per week for 5 weeks, if you prefer a lesser intensity please see my alternative classes which are 1x lesson per week, or 2/3 lessons per week.
