Beginner Level
Welcome to the STEM Club! In this club, you are going to learn about different STEM topics by doing different hands-on activities. You will explore different engineering fields such as civil engineering. Our club meets once a week for nine sessions which is divided into three units: Bridges, Exploring Energy, and Natural Disasters. Each meeting we will be learning and exploring different STEM concepts and how we can use them to create our projects.
During our club meetings, you will be designing, creating, and building mini-projects. Sometimes, you may need to complete the mini-project outside of our club meetings. That's okay because you can upload a photo or video to show everyone your completed project.
I may use visual graphics such as photos, slideshows, and video clips during class. I encourage you to ask questions because that is how we learn.

A supply list for each club meeting will be uploaded to the classroom a week before the club meeting.

The kids will learn about the strengths of different shapes by creating a structure that will hold one or more books. 45 mins online live lesson
Lesson 2:
Bridge Materials
The kids will test how well two pillars made from different materials withstands a load before failure. 45 mins online live lesson
Lesson 3:
Bridge Design
The kids will apply what they have learned in the previous lessons to build a bridge using different shapes in their design. 45 mins online live lesson
Unit 2: Exploring Energy
Lesson 4:
Egg Drop
The kids will design and create a container that will protect a raw chicken egg . 45 mins online live lesson

Parental Guidance
Each club meeting requires different supplies such as a toothpicks, gummy candy, scissors, glue, etc. A pdf of the supplies for each club meeting will be uploaded to the classroom a week before the next club meeting.
