Group experience
US Grade 5 - 8
In this STEM club, students will share their love of STEM by becoming scientists and engineers through experiments and the exploration of scientific careers! Students will be given various STEM Challenges throughout the month and various prompts to promote student discussion and collaboration in relation to science, technology, engineering, and math. Your moderator will provide discussion prompts and promote a community-based environment where students feel welcome to share and collaborate with one another. Examples of weekly prompts will include: -STEM Challenge: Tower Building Using common materials around your home, design a tower that can stand on it's own. Can you make the tallest tower? Share your pictures below and describe how you built your tower and what you would do to improve it. -Nature Exploration: Nature Scavenger Hunt Go outside and try to find 5 different materials that are different colors and shapes. Post pictures of your items and try to guess what climate your other group members are in! -Weekly Trivia How many sides does a dodecahedron have? Can you draw one or create a 3D model? -Weekly Spotlight What is something you did this week that relates to STEM? Did you build something? Solve a challenging math problem? Create a new code? Share your findings and describe your STEM exploration this week!

Guidelines
Welcome to our Group! We want all of our learners to feel comfortable, connected, and safe. That's why we have 3 rules we ask you to follow: Be Kind, Be Safe, and Be Respectful.
Be Kind - Help all learners feel welcome and included.
Learners from all over the world, with different backgrounds, races, ethnicities, abilities, gender identities, religions and body types, participate in our Group. Always be nice and make others, especially new learners, know that they belong and are welcome. Teasing, name calling, or bullying anybody in our community? Nope. Not happening here
Be Safe - Keep your personal information private and never ask other learners for theirs.
Personal things are personal. We want to keep you safe on Outschool, but we also want YOU to understand how to be safe when you're meeting other learners or teachers. Keep your full name, home address, gaming or social media name, email, and school name private.
Be Respectful - Treat others how you want to be treated.
Keep language clean and information you share safe. If you wouldn't say it or share with your grandma, don't do it here. Swear words, racy videos, and violent images are not allowed. Treat Outschool like a public place, and when in doubt, keep things covered.

Welcome to Seed and Stem Learning Center by Bailey Nelson and Kenneth Kirk!
As a prior public school teacher, Bailey experienced the positive difference that scientific inquiry can have on students. Kenneth, who received his Bachelor's of Business Degree in Economics, found a passion in educating young students the improtance of financial literacy and business education. Bailey and Ken used this inspiration to create a program that allows students to connect across the globe through quality and inclusive education.
Although students take classes virtually, they will be inspired through hands-on and real-world applications and problems. Through our engaging courses, students will develop (or enhance) their love of all subjects by connecting to real-life applications and problems.
Teachers and tutors are all vetted through a rigorous process that focuses on scientific inquiry, problem-based learning, and hands-on pedagogy. Teachers come from a variety of backgrounds including education, economics, engineering, and computer science.
