US Grade 6
Welcome to 6th Grade Science Part I ! You will learn about our solar system and how the Sun affects our Earth besides giving it heat. We will also learn about discoveries in space in the 21st century, celestial objects such as black holes, supernovae, and nebulae. After exploring topics in astronomy, we will learn about forces and energy. My teaching style is to ask engaging questions to begin and drive our class discussions. I may use visual graphics such as slide shows and video clips. During some class meetings, we will do hands-on activities. The course syllabus outlines the topics for each class meeting, and a pdf of supplies will be uploaded to the classroom. The kids will be making an interactive science notebook, so they will need supplies for that. A supply list will be available as a pdf in the classroom. ***All learners must be enrolled to be fair to the other enrolled learners.*** ***Class will be cancelled if no learners join the class meeting 10 minutes after the class meeting has started.***
Learning Goals
The learners will be introduced to basic physics concepts and astronomy concepts.
