Class Experience

US Grade Kindergarten - 2
Beginner Level
Welcome to Science Fun for Little Ones, the perfect beginning class to get your little learner excited about science. Learners will begin to observe, investigate, predict, draw diagrams to explain why certain things happen and do fun projects and experiments.

Science education is important at this age because science is a great tool for developing the skills to question what's going in the world without any inhibition. When young learners search their world through science, learners learn to read, use verbal skills and written language.

Learning about science and conducting experiments not only teaches scientific understanding, it helps students improve in other areas, encourages curiosity and creativity, builds critical and iterative thinking skills, learn to predict, develops expressive communication skills, develops analytical thinking and logical reasoning, develops problem-solving, communication and beginning research skills, and helps develop patience as well as perseverance.

Science Fun for Little Ones meets once a week for four weeks. Each week, learners will make observations, formulate a hypothesis, conduct a project or experiment where they will investigate, predict and draw conclusions. But most importantly, young learners have FUN! and hopefully gain a love for science.

SPECIAL NOTE TO PARENTS: Parents worry about teaching science to their child if they only knew how. No worries, you don't need to know "how to do" each project and experiment. Each experiment has been selected and is age appropriate for Science Fun for Little Ones and is Teacher lead, giving step-by-step instructions. Please check out each experiment before you enroll young learner in a four-week session. Asks any questions you may have about the materials, objectives and actual experiments. Your support and encouragement will help your young learner not to be afraid to be curious and explore something new.

Welcome and hello. I am Ms Reid. I have been in the education field for forty years now. It's my life! I've taught learners from 4-Adults in several different countries, taught online for the past seven years to English-speaking and ESL students in the U.S., Asia, Africa and South America.

I was a Principal for 21 years and a business owner. As a Principal I wrote curriculum for all academic areas and know what should be taught in the various subjects. As a teacher, I taught all academic subjects [reading, math, science, social studies] as well as music, art and physical education to learners K-8.

My passion is teaching, seeing learners excited about learning. What better subject to explore at this age when youngest learners are open, uninhibited, inquisitive and usually very ready to learn something new. That's why I created "Science Fun for Little Ones," the perfect age to begin science exploration.
