Whether you're looking to give your little one a head start in school, or your child needs extra support with reading and writing, this class is tailored to meet their needs! Using a research-based curriculum, we focus on developing essential literacy skills by decoding sounds and mastering sight words that don't follow regular spelling rules. 🥸 What Will Your Student Learn? In this course, students will engage with the SIPPS (Systematic Instruction in Phonological Awareness, Phonics, and Sight Words) curriculum, designed to build strong foundational reading skills. Your child will learn to decode words, recognize sight words, and develop the confidence they need to become fluent readers and writers. The program is perfect for children entering Kindergarten or First Grade, second graders who are behind in reading, and English Language Learners. With just 25 minutes a day, your child will be on the path to literacy success. By the end of the course, students will be able to: Decode words using phonics Read and spell over 80 sight words Use short vowel sounds confidently Develop phonological awareness 🤓 What Topics Will You Cover? Throughout the course, your child will master: Sounding out letters and blending sounds together Reading and spelling sight words Constructing simple sentences Writing words and sentences independently How Is the Class Structured? The course consists of ten structured lessons, each designed to keep your child engaged and progressing steadily toward their literacy goals. Time: 25 minutes 📆 Lesson 12 - Part 2 - Review and Final Assessment 🌟 The class will begin with a review of lessons 7-11 and each child will be assessed individually. A report of the assessment will be send to parents within 24 hours of the last class. The teacher will recommend the class progression based on the final assessment. Time: 25 minutes 🧐 Any required experience or knowledge learners need? This class is designed to teach beginning readers in kindergarten, first, and second grade who have little to no reading experience or who are currently struggling with letter sounds and blending. Students should recognize at least 20 letters from the alphabet, including all 5 vowels.
Learning Goals
Students will be able to read blends and decode words.
Students will be able to write full sentences using dictation using correct grammar and capitalization.

This class is designed to support the unique needs of all learners including learners with ADHD, Dyslexia, ASD, Twice Exceptional. and Gifted.
Pre-Requisites
Students should recognize all the letters of the alphabet and all letter sounds.

Students will be provided with a writing page to be printed prior to each class for our writing activity.
