In this class students will develop one of the essential skills needed for a deeper understanding of what they are reading. Your student will learn the importance of asking questions and how to use questioning as a tool to connect with what they are reading. Your scholar will also practice finding answers to their questions using textual evidence. As your child advances through school, the use of questioning will help them gain the critical thinking skills necessary to be successful...
Students will understand why asking questions is important. Students will learn when and how to ask questions. Students will learn how to use textual evidence to find answers to their questions.
There will be no homework assigned. However, by practicing what they learned in class, students will become more proficient and confident applying these skills.
Please bring a pencil and paper to take notes. I will be helpful to have post-it notes, and colored pencils or markers.
Progress toward goal will be assessed through informal check out at the end of class.
25 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
