2-4 hours per week. Students will be expected to complete artwork outside of class. Daily practice of principles taught is recommended.

Class Experience

This class if for students wanting to improve their digital art skills by working one on one with a professional artist. The first class will be an introductory lesson where the student will be expected to show some of their current work. Descisions on what to learn next will be made during that first class. The teacher will make assignments, exercises and projects that are tailored to the needs of each student. Students typically have full control over their subject matter unless the teacher feels they need to practice a particular skill. An example schedule is shown below:

Week of August 8-Anatomy
Week of August 15-Composition
Week of August 22-Elements of Art

Learning Goals

Students will learn how to improve their art through weekly lessons tailored to their specific strengths and weaknesses.

A digital drawing program and a drawing tablet are recommended.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

My name is Ashley Kaye I am an artist with years of teaching in the public school system under my belt. I have built multiple art programs from the ground up and I believe that anyone can be an artist if they have the right training. In my years of teaching art I have seen timid students blossom into wonderful artists with the help of the right tools. There has never been a student that I couldn't teach, and I don't believe in giving up until we get it right.
