Welcome to our weekly art club! Using Procreate, we will explore the app and its many tools, explore different art styles and learn digital art techniques that will take your digital art to the next level. Artists of any level of experience are welcome! Each week will consist of a theme, where we challenge ourselves to draw a specific object or technique. My shared screen will offer a 10-minute step-by-step tutorial, where I will demonstrate the basics of sketching out our featured design. After the basic tutorial, students are encouraged to "take it from there" - add your own details, explore different textures and backgrounds, edit colors, etc. During this part of class, students are encouraged to ask questions and offer advice to fellow classmates. This is an excellent way for students to start with a framework and then explore their own preferences and talents. Here are some of our upcoming themes for 2024: Week of Sept 2: Drawing hair Week of Sept 9: Multi-point perspective drawing Week of Sept 16: Charcoal and shading Week of Sept 23: Water and bubbles Week of Sept 30: Character Building Week of Oct 7: Realistic eyes Week of Oct 14: Trees in autumn Week of Oct 21: NO CLASS Week of Oct 27: Pumpkins in different art styles Week of Nov 3: Editing and creating 3D models Week of Nov 10: Graphic design & marketing Week of Nov 17: Animations in Procreate Week of Nov 24 (U.S. Holiday): Indigenous art inspiration Week of Dec 1: DIY custom brushes & stamps Week of Dec 8: Symmetrical snowflakes Week of Dec 15: Create your own custom stickers Week of Dec 22 (U.S. Holiday): Winter landscape Week of Dec 29: At the end of each session, students are encouraged to share their digital art via the Zoom share screen option, which is the preferred method. This might require their tablet/device to be connected to the same WiFi account that their Zoom meeting is connected to. Alternatively, they can share their artwork in the classroom or even on camera. My classes are encouraging, upbeat and positive. I like to value progress over the completed work, taking the pressure off creating a "perfect" art piece. I welcome students of all abilities; if your student requires any special accommodations please let me know how I can help!
