Students will learn how to find the prime factorization of numbers. The steps will be expressed using prime numbers with an exponent if applicable in the form of a factor tree. They will be apply previous knowledge of identifying prime numbers which derives from the number of factors a number has. Students will be allowed to create problems to be solved by other students. During these interactions students are able to identify errors to further their understanding.

Students will learn the steps for finding the prime factorization of natural numbers expressed using exponents.
