(Poets who'd like to perform will be asked to share poems with Dr. Triya in advance to ensure appropriateness. ) Dr.Triya will read a poem from a "Poet of the Day". She will also model performance tools, poetic devices, poem analysis and other poetic inspirations that writers may use to make their performances come to life. Then the "Poetry Slam will last 35-40 minutes, depending on how many poets sign up for the day. If time provide, we will have a co-writing session, for poets who feel encouraged to write afterwards.
