In this 3-week class, you will learn how plants grow from seeds and how they become our dinner! We will plant seeds together, learn about how plants grow, learn how to care for our plants, and eventually finish with a pizza making class!

Description

Class Experience

If you have a child that is interested in learning more about how plants grow or even starting their own garden they will love this class!

Over the next 3 weeks, students will learn how to plant a seed, watch it grow, and learn the entire life-cycle of the seed as it goes from being planted in soil to being ready to harvest, and, in the student's case, eaten.

In the first class, students will decorate their containers and plant their seeds.  We will learn about the life-cycle of plants,...

The students will learn the life-cycle of plants, students will practice spelling their first name, students will practice their writing skills with letter-tracing, as well as, learn some really cool science facts about plants, the seasons and different climates.  The students will also learn to make their very own pizzas.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

35 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.

The students will be cooking basic individual pizzas in our last class. The ingredients include; English muffins or bagel as the crust, cheese, pizza sauce along with any toppings the student would like to put on their pizza ... and of course our basil.  Use of oven WITH PARENT SUPERVISION , toaster oven, or microwave will be needed for this class.
No knives will be used - a butter knife to spread the pizza sauce will be the only utensil needed for this class.
