In this one-time science class, students will learn about the parts of a seed including the embryo and endosperm, what happens during germination, and how seeds move around so new plants can grow.

In this science class, we will be exploring how seeds grow into plants. We will learn about... * parts of a seed and their functions * what conditions do seeds need to grow * the process of germination * parts of a new plant * the eventual formation of new seeds * how new seeds are dispersed. I will have pictures from my garden and lots of real-life seeds and plants in different stages of growth. We will practice several technical terms such as "root", "germination", and "plant embryo", but overall the class will be conversational. I will be encouraging students to share any knowledge and experience they may have, but no prior knowledge is required! Students will be taking a fun trivia quiz throughout the class to see what they can remember.
