Class Experience
This class will be in an online lecture format with a slideshow presentation. It is an ideal lecture for those who are interested in either the ancient time period or in the study of diseases. In the class, we will look at contemporary accounts of the plagues, how the disease looks under a microscope, and modern investigations into each case. Students will learn about plagues during the ancient world; and the science and archaeology behind the diseases.
I have a Master of Arts in Early European History and I have been teaching on disease history for three years. Additionally, I have worked in the modern emergency medicine field for fifteen years.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
1 hour 15 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Students will be discussing death and diseases. As well as learning about ancient diseases through the scientific study of skeletons.
