US Grade 8 - 11
This class will be in an online lecture format with a slideshow presentation. It will only meet once and is a condensed version of the Medieval Medicine class. It is an ideal lecture for those who are interested in either the medieval time period or in the study of diseases. In this class, we will be looking at contemporary accounts of the diseases, how they look under a microscope, and modern perspectives on the diseases. While the class will consist mostly of lecture points, I do highly encourage both discussion and questions in my classes.
Learning Goals
They will learn about medieval diseases, how they were treated in both medieval and modern times; and the science and archaeology behind exploring the diseases.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Teacher expertise and credentials
Master's Degree in History from University of Nebraska at Kearney
I chose to offer this class because I find the topic to be both interesting and not one that is generally taught on a regular basis.
As for my background, I have a Master of Arts in Early European History, a certificate in Herbalism, and I have worked in the modern emergency medicine field for a number of years. Additionally, I write books that involve medieval folklore, superstitions, and herbal practices.
