Class Experience

In this class, the student will get personalized tutoring/training in chess in order to boost their thinking skills and increase their rating in chess. We will go over the topics of chess that the student is least confident with and enforce his/her skills in the opening, middlegame and endgame all-together. We will go over theory needed to improve the skills in a specific topic area. The student will get to play chess matches with me and then analyze the games so they learn from their...

During my junior and senior year, I was part of my high school's chess club where we played chess, went over strategies/tactics and watched professional tournament games. I also play chess online in several official platforms like Chess.com, Chess24 and LiChess. I have been studying the game of chess through books, videos, online classes, puzzles and of course practicing over the board. My ratings in Chess.com are currently 1350 in Bullet (1 minute chess) and 1500 in Rapid (10 minute chess). I am also the co-founder and Vice President of my university's chess team.

In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:Chess platform

55 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
