Description
Class Experience
This is a mental skills training course for athletes based on the research from field of sport psychology. Students will be taught mental skills that professional and Olympic athletes use to achieve optimal performance. It will be tailored to what sport the student plays. Background and research on why the skill is important will be provided. I will talk with the student on how to modify the skill to fit their specific sport and situation. The student will have plenty of time to ask...
They will learn mental skills to help them improve their athletic performance. The first week they will learn mental imagery. The next week they will learn relaxation training. The third week they will learn self-talk. The fourth week they will learn pre-performance routines and how to use a performance journal.
I have a master's degree in sport psychology from Florida State University and a master's degree in school counseling from Loyola University.
