What's included
Homework
1 hour per week. Homework is only assigned on an optional and requested basis. If students work better with homework and extra practice work, it can always be assigned. However, this is only if requested, and I will never make students do extra homework if they are already feeling overwhelmed in school.Assessment
Assessments will be done through each post. They will be formative assessments that will determine the scaffolding of learning so that I can best prepare each new lesson for the students each week that best fits their progress.Class Experience
This is a FLEX course that does not intend to meet synchronously. Let me know what tutoring you need help with, and I will create an asynchronized and completely individualized set of lessons (and practice work if requested) for your student and be there to answer questions on call. Students/parents can post what they need help with each week (or a general topic), and I will post a individualized video lesson of myself teaching the topic needed for that student. Then, throughout the week, they can post ANY questions they have about homework they have, and I will respond ASAP with a detailed explanation on how to solve a particular problem, or answer a particular set of questions. The possibilities are endless! Here are some examples of asynchronous tutoring help I would be happy to give! -Send over a list of vocabulary words, and I can help them study -Send the rubric for a writing project, and I will create a document that we edit together at our own pace and give feedback as needed/requested -Virtual book club to get your student interested in reading! (Weekly posts and videos of reading stories together!) -Send a picture of a math worksheet, and I can send a picture back with explanations on how to get the correct answer! -I can create asynchronous "homework" and lessons to supplement any schooling, or homeschool curriculum for them to watch and complete at their own pace! Send out a request to me, and I would be HAPPY to look into a creative way to accomplish it! Weekly Schedule: -This is 7-day-a-week instruction and on-call individualized tutoring through posts and comments in the classroom. -Every MONDAY, there will be a video/recorded lesson posted. (If you do not have a specific topic for the week, that is not a problem. I can always provide a topic based on scaffolded instruction from the previous week). -The rest of the week can be used to communicated as needed on the assignments as your student completes them at their own pace that works best with their schedule.
