Description
Class Experience
This ongoing course is structured based on each student's unique learning needs. The first session will typically consist of reading assessments (structured in a fun way) so that I can get a feel for where the students are at and what their specific learning needs are. Then, we will work together to accomplish the student's individual learning goals. I will track improvement and keep in contact with families so that they know how their learner is progressing toward their goals. There are MANY...
Students will develop their own learning goals and I will be there to support them and give them the tools they need to achieve them. Depending on their unique learning goal(s) is what we will do to help work on them.
I am a professional tutor who has been working with students of all ages for over 6 years on virtual and in-person platforms. I also have an Associates of Arts degree in Psychology, a Bachelor of Arts degree in English with a minor in Creative Writing, and will have a K-6 teaching licensure with a Master of Arts in Teaching.
There is typically no homework assigned for my tutoring sessions other than the occasional extra practice. I actually help with the opposite! I can help students with their homework they already may have assigned to them and get it done with them so they have less homework throughout the week!
Supply list depends on what the student's learning goals are. I typically provide everything needed for the learner each session, unless there are specific requests beforehand. If there is ever a time where they want to bring their own homework, I just ask them to share it with me via an attachment in Outschool before class so I can implement that into the lesson. If there is ever a time where I will require students to have something with them, I will let them know prior to our session through Outschool.
In order to ensure weekly improvement, learners will be assessed with individual forms of both formative and summative assessments depending on their age and their learning goals. The assessments will typically happen during the first session, and then be given again every few weeks to test learner progress and improvement.
30 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
