In this one-time private painting class we will focus on learning a painting technique that most interests your young artist. Topics can range from different classic styles such as portrait, landscape, still life, or, a piece based on the subject of your student's choice such as animal drawings, all done in an environment that will allow the artists to receive 1-on-1 attention catered specifically to their learning needs. 

This taster private lesson is geared specifically for students who love to draw and are looking to learn from not only a studio trained artist, but a teacher who has years of experience working with children from ages 4 to 15, including those with unique learning styles and/or physical/intellectual disabilities.

We can cover topics from understanding how to mix colours, when to use different paint brushes to create texture, painting landscapes and so much more! The possibilities are endless! 

Here is a breakdown of what to expect in each lesson:

Learning Goals
In this one-time lesson students will learn an art technique that is specific to them. My artistic background allows for large variety of lessons that can be prearranged to meet the young artists interests. Aspiring artists can learn a wide variety of painting techniques. We can practice painting still life's, portraits, and landscapes using the various techniques as a reference. Students can learn how to correctly paint the dimensions of a realistic face, as well as more abstract portraits and caricatures. They can also learn about the Principles and Elements of Design and how to apply them in their own works of art. The purpose of these 1-to-1 lessons are to meeting the young artists specific interests and help them learn, and love what they create!

Supply List
Artists will need a sketchpad with thicker paper meant for painting or a variety of canvas' if preferred. Painting materials such as a set or acrylic or watercolour paint, a selection of paint brushes and a paint palette. A jar for water and paper towel/ rag to wipe wet brushes. Artists may wish to have a small easel for their canvas' as well.
